Ghostly Interference

I fell in love with Rena Jett and Jag Peters, but  Jag’s mother, better known as Charley, won my heart. Ghostly Interference is a strong, poignant love story with a dash of the paranormal with suspense and love riding in the background.  It deals with the wounded lives and past hurts.

Rena rides an apple red Harley and has lots of hurts from the past. These wounds have shaped her, and her surliness, impatience, and behavior when she first meets Jag are deplorable. Her rudeness made me love her even more, and it spurred me to keep turning the pages.

Rene Jett is a woman with guts, not because of her brokenness but because of the soft heart and the desires that hide behind the iron-clad wall with which she protects herself. That’s one of the reasons I like her so much. She’s one of those strong take-no-crap women who bounced back on their feet every time they get knocked down.

In comes Jag Peters, who barely misses hitting her with his car. Having made a vow to keep his karma slate clean, he’d almost messed up at that intersection that could have changed Rena’s life and sent her into eternity forever.

Ghostly Interference has a touch of spiritual reality. There’s the white ruin and, of course, Sam, the brother of Rena who died and is still trying to protect his sister.

There’s a lot of humor in the story. Especially when Jag has his first motorcycle ride. I couldn’t help but laugh. In fact, I cracked up when he fell off the motorcycle as he tried to get off of it.

However, this story is not only about love. There are lessons to learn about the foster care system and how those kids are left so alone. We get a glance at what happens behind closed doors to kids placed in some of these homes. Stories that no one ever tells.

I am glad I read Ghostly Interference. It mirrors actual realities that do happen even though the story is clothed in fiction.

I won’t go into the plots here because I don’t want to spoil your joy in reading the book. But I will say that tears were in my eyes as I moved toward the end. You’ll know why when you read it. It was well worth my investing my time to read it. Ghostly Interference is simply an outstanding book.

Shalom aleichem,
