The Burnt Orange Sunrise by David Handler, Book Four in the Berger and Mitry Series

This was a hard book to write about because I kept comparing it to the film Murder by Death with Peter Falk and a host of other characters. Not to say that The Burnt Orange Sunrise is not on the same standard insofar as storytelling goes with the first three books in the Berger and Mitry series. However, this book has an element of foreboding in it.

Mitch has trouble trying to express something he has on his mind to Desiree. Desiree thinks that he is ready to call it quits and discusses it with her best girlfriend. This issue plays a big role in this book of murder mayhem where one person after the other gets killed.

The Burnt Orange Sunrise definitely kept me turning the pages. The ending of this story left me with lots of questions. After reading the last page, I said, now what? A foreboding feeling came, and I had to read book five to found out what was going to happen. However, that is the next book, and it will reveal its own shocks.

There were one or two minor errors in my eBook edition. One of the errors was an incomplete sentence in the Prologue. Therefore, this story received four stars instead of five.

The Burnt Orange Sunrise by David Handler is available at Amazon.

  1. Another good review and exposé for an new to me author. I hate when a book leaves you hanging or hungering for answers. But this is what the world of sequels is for, non? It got you searching and I will probably do the same! 😉
Thank you for sharing Patricia! Hugs!

  2. Loved this book. Sadly, I’ve now finished the entire series. There’s not a weak link in the group. Thanks for this recommendation.

    • You’re very welcome Jacqui. I have started two new series by two different authors. Too early to tell. I will continue with my book reviews on Berger & Mitry before I start reviewing something else.
      Shalom,
